How to replace Apple Powerbook G4 Battery

If your PowerBook G4 isn't running as long as it used to on battery power, you'll need to replace the battery. Apple's website states that removable batteries used in certain Apple notebooks, including PowerBook G4 models, can be fully charged and discharged up to 300 times before losing efficiency if they've been properly maintained. Taking a few minutes to change the battery can spare you the hassle of losing unsaved work or having an online game unexpectedly interrupted.

Shut your computer down and turn it over

Look for the battery release latch on the bottom of your computer. Turn the latch one quarter or ninety degrees clockwise with a coin to open the battery compartment.

Carefully remove the battery.

Place the charged battery in the battery compartment. Turn the latch one quarter or ninety degrees counterclockwise with a coin to close the latch and secure the battery in place. All Other PowerBook G4 Models.

Shut your computer down and flip it over
